15 Moments: #4 This Place Matters

‘Tis the season for year-end posts, so I thought I’d highlight 15 of my notable moments from the year. This is part 4 of 15. Previous parts are here: 1 2 3

One of my favorite social media trends this year was the “This Place Matters” campaign launched by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. As explained by Next City:

The project is simple: Visit the Saving Places website to download and print a sign. Take photos with the sign at the places that matter most to you, and share the photos with others online with the hashtag #ThisPlaceMatters.

Over the course of the year, I’ve tried to bring my This Place Matters sign with me throughout my travels in Central Indiana and beyond! Its been fun sharing some of my favorite historic places through the hashtag and reach a national audience. I was really excited to see a few of them during the TrustLive powerpoint during #PastForward.

Here’s a few of my favorite #ThisPlaceMatters tweets from the year:

You can obtain your own This Place Matters sign through the National Trust for Historic Preservation. I look forward to sharing more sites in 2016!

  1. I love this series! (And the cover photo of this post. And I still think we look alike). 😉

  2. Thanks! I love the cover photo too 🙂

  3. What a wonderful project and good on you for helping bring awareness to places we normally wouldn’t check out! I think that’s super sweet. 🙂
