Shutterbug Sunday: Many Views of the Scottish Rite Cathedral

It occured to me during our most recent Indy Instameet that I really enjoy taking photos of the Scottish Rite Cathedral. I looked back through my photo library and discovered I have taken numerous photos of this building, from varying angles, lights, and locations. There’s so many great angles to photograph the Scottish Rite, that it’s hard to really get a bad photo of this magnificent building.

The Scottish Rite Cathedral is a Neo-Gothic design from 1929 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Early morning light. I snagged this one on my way into work one morning, when I happened to notice the sunlight hitting the Scottish Rite's limestone in almost the perfect way.

Clouds forming. Although the sky is dark, the limestone of the Scottish Rite shines brightly from behind the trees.

The morning run. Snagged this one from the balcony of the World War Memorial. Love that the tower of the Scottish Rite stands above everything else in the area.

Lunch walk. I took this during one of my lunches on the World War Memorial Plaza. Something about this tree grabbed my attention and it just so happened I could frame both the tree and the Scottish Rite in one great edit.
