Many of the paintings I really enjoy painting have both a historic and personal connection. The White Shoal Lighthouse on Lake Michigan is a great example of one of these paintings. The White Shoal Lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and dates from 1910. The light is particularly notable as a “barber pole” tower, the only one in the United States. I’ve had the fortunate pleasure of getting up close and personal with this lighthouse when we boated from Lake Charlevoix to Mackinac Island. It is an absolute beauty and I’m glad it serves as a beacon for lighthouse preservation in the state of Michigan.
This painting is an 8×10 and is available for sale on etsy!
