Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monuments in Turquoise

It feels like absolutely forever since I’ve painted an Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument painting. In reality, it was about two months ago since I finished my last versions of the painting. Since then, I’ve taken some time to paint other subjects, but recently got back into painting my signature piece to make sure I don’t get too far behind.

I realized looking through past images that I had never done the monument in turquoise before (I’ve done at turquoise sky or base, but never a monument). So, here are my first two attempts. Turquoise may seem like a challenging color to work with, but it really is bright and powerful. The orange sky version actually features a purple base (but for some reason my scanner made it blue?). Nonetheless, these will eventually go to homespun for sale!
