This lighthouse is the West Quoddy Head Light found in Lubec, Maine, right on the border of the United States and Canada. This lighthouse dates from 1857 and is still an active aid to navigation by the U.S. Coast Guard. I was drawn to the West Quoddy Head Light for its striping makes it quite memorable and visible for ships.
I would love to find some more lighthouses along the east or west coast to feature. I have painted two from Michigan, one from Massachusetts, and now one from Maine.
