Space Needle

My recent Alaskan cruise departed from and returned to Seattle, Washington. While in Seattle, my sister and I visited the 1962 World’s Fair campus, which includes the iconic Space Needle. I decided the Space Needle would be an excellent subject to paint and… voila! My newest subject! I actually completed this painting on my smallest canvas size to date – 5×7. I was able to pick up several canvas on sale and wanted to try the smaller size to see how it would work — will they take me shorter periods of time to complete, how detailed would they look, etc? This was a good subject to try the smaller canvas on, as it is not as detailed as some of my other work. Overall, I think it works. I may try a Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument on a 5×7 soon.

I’ve done a couple other paintings recently, but some are surprise gifts and so I won’t be posting them here quite yet…
